Why I support cohabiting before marriage – Simi

Nigerian singer Simi Kosoko, also known as Simi, has stated that she supports intended couples living together before marriage.

She added that cohabiting would allow an engaged pair to get to know one another better before deciding to marry.

In the newest episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Simi disclosed that she was cohabiting with her husband, Adekunle Gold before they married.

She said, “I used to go over to Adekunle Gold’s apartment to spend time with him.

“I believe that… Maybe I shouldn’t share this opinion because I believe religious folks will disagree with me. I believe that those who desire to marry should first live together for a short time. Because I believe you don’t truly know someone you’re going to marry unless you cohabit. When someone is on their best behaviour outside, it differs from when they are cranky because they haven’t eaten, when they wake up in the morning, or when they snore.

“When you live with someone, you get to know all sides of them, and that’s when you know if you can be together forever. Millions of couples have married without living together. But I believe it is a good idea to cohabit before marriage. “It doesn’t have to last long.”
