Grammy-nominated Nigerian artist Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, known as Ayra Starr, has disclosed that she has already planned her acceptance speech.

According to reports, Ayra Starr’s song ‘Rush’ has been nominated for the first time in the Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammys.

In a recent interview with Cool FM Nigeria, the Mavin Records musician said she expects to receive the award despite heavy competition.

“I have my Grammy speech ready. It’s fairly long because this is the first African category. “I already know my walk and my outfit,” Ayra Starr explained.

She stated that if she wins the prize, she will first go to a Chinese restaurant and eat before video calling her mother.
The 66th Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in Los Angeles.

Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ will compete for the first Best African Music Performance award alongside Davido’s ‘Unavailable’, Asake and Olamide’s ‘Amapiano’, Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys’, and Tyla’s ‘Water.’
