Eno Barony, a well-known female rapper, has been open about her musical journey since her early years. Her hit tracks include “God Is a Woman,” “Wats Ma Name,” and “Tonga,” a 2014 remix of Joey B and Sarkodie’s “Tonga.”

Despite growing up in a Christian environment as the daughter of a reverend minister, Eno Barony chose to pursue her passion for rap at the age of 15. She recalled in an interview with Citi TV in Accra how her father reacted negatively when he saw her perform on TV for the first time. He disapproved of her rapping while wearing a short skirt. And he gave her the beating of her lifetime.

In 2021, Eno Barony made history as the first female musician from Ghana to win the 3Music Awards’ Rapper of the Year title. She has also received awards for Best Rap Performance of the Year at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) and the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
