CEO of Mavin Records speaks on rumours of the label’s sale

Michael Collins Ajereh, also known as Don Jazzy, the music executive and CEO of Mavin Records, has finally responded to reports concerning the label’s sale.

GHANA AVENUE remembers that in October 2023, Billboard claimed that Mavin Records “is seeking investment or eying a potential full sale, with bidding coming from Universal Music Group, HYBE, and strong interest from music asset investors in the financial sector, according to sources.”

However, on the most recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast, Don Jazzy implied that the label is not looking for a sale but is being approached by investors.

He said that Mavin Records is profitable and has a lot of potential, which is why it attracts international investors.

Don Jazzy stated that Mavin has been in business with its current partner, Kupanda Holdings, for five years, and the holdings will not maintain the collaboration “forever.

He stated, “It (the speculations concerning the sale of Mavin Records) is straightforward. We have investors, Kupanda Holdings, who have been here for five years, so they’re going to [laughs].

People will always want to buy gold or diamonds from you. And Mavin Records has huge potential.”
